I chase a rainbow

I hoped to find the end

I chased high hopes

In a race to find a friend

I turned out to be the burnt one

So I forgot the rainbow

In the hopes that it’s all untrue

All these high hopes I had

Of being with only you

That rainbow that I chased

The one that had no end
