MUSICAL
MEMORIES You
can hear the background static on an Old record
album One that
many have forgotten about One stashed at the back of you closetLost
amidst your childhood love letters The record
is slightly warped with age It’s
music playing like an untuned guitar The
memories that it brings are like the sharp End of a
needle being mercilessly driven Into your
arm It quite
relentlessly awakes you to all The past
emotions once cleared from your mind Whether
the adrenalin flows from the reflection Of joy or
the ripples of anger The past
is but a collection of memories Memories
that are pictures in you head Sometimes
caricatures of people once admired Other
times a depiction of ones you hadn’t Cared for,
strung up like Texas outlaws Memories
are nothing but the past Not to be
changed nor to be totally forgotten Dwelling
in our mind like unwanted scars The
experiences we have had can never be Relived
but they can always be remembered Retained
like words of ancient songs And hopefully always with a lesson |
