SILENCE Who
is the man that said silence is golden Where is he and what does
he do? Does he love? Is there anyone in his
life? Can he not feel his own
heartbeat? Is he cold in the
summertime? And hot in the winter And what does he mean by
silence Does he include the hum of
the breeze? Does he include the
crickets mating call? Or the cry of an abandoned
child Did he know what the world
would be like? Could he have meant the
sounds of war? Was he just sick of racial
remarks? And how about the fight
for money We have hurt the ones we
love And we kill the ones we
know nothing about We search to make
ourselves happy So how often do we think
of others around us And when we think – do
our thoughts make sound Silence – maybe Just maybe he had
something there Maybe he had the results but couldn’t make out
the answers maybe he had the answers but not the questions Maybe Just maybe silence is golden |
